1Two major flaws: Bad Headphones and Fixed Shuffle optionApr 09, 2009
By B. Scurlock
First of all, when I tried to play the mp3 player the left headphone wasn't working. I was very disappointed when Target told me that they would charge me a 20% restocking fee for something that didn't work in the first place!!!
Second, the "SHUFFLE ALL" option doesn't actually shuffle the songs. It places the tracks in a random order when your music is uploaded but it saves the tracks random order and uses the same track order when you select the "SHUFFLE ALL" option.
Next time I will save my money and buy a high-end mp3 player.

2Decent but unreliableApr 27, 2009

A few months ago, I bought this MP3 player, as it was cheap and I was in need of a new MP3 player. The day I got it, it froze on me. I should have known then that this would be trouble.

After only having this MP3 player for a couple of months, I've had numerous issues with it. The first was a problem with it turning off and freezing for no apparent reason. The final straw came today when, for no real reason, the MP3 player would not take a charge. Whenever I went to attach it to a power source, the Memorex logo would flash then the device would turn off, then the logo appeared and again turned off.

This MP3 player is also not ideal if you are looking to listen to podcasts then turn it off, then to listen again, because if you turn it off, you lose your progress and the fast-forward function is extremely slow.

However, for just listening to music, it does it's job, providing decent quality. The earbuds it comes with are not great, so you will most likely need a new pair, as well.

When this MP3 player works, it's fine. However, with all my problems with this one, I will most likely never buy something from Memorex again. I wish I could recommend this as it's cheap and is ok when it works, however with all the problems I've had, I simply cannot recommend it.

5Great for exercise and commutingDec 29, 2008

After spending $$$$ on an ipod and ipod nano, neither was really that good for the gym. The 60 gig ipod skips tons, and the nano is a little too big to clip onto your body (unless you have pockets or a bulky armband holder, which always slides down on me.) I can't believe this inexpensive unit does the trick--the FM radio and display makes it a better unit than the ipod shuffle. One caveat--it wouldn't let me store more than 70 songs at first--after going to the Memorex site I found a firmware update that fixed that trick. Well worth the $40 I spent (now it's even cheaper.)

4Great MP3 player for the priceMar 24, 2009

I used this for training and participation in a snow shoe race. Works great and has a ton of space. My only complaint is that it stopped working once when it was really cold out. After that I kept it inside my jacket and haven't had any problems since.
