Solved my sparklies problem!Nov 11, 2009

Interesting product. I've never had problems with DVI connections until I bought my new E6500 laptop with docking station. Apparently the signal coming out from the dock is less power than my previous desktop, so I ended up with green "sparklies" on the screen at random intervals.
There are many DVI signal boosters out there that sell upwards of $100, and I have a hard time justifying why a simple signal booster should be so expensive. My best guess is that the expensive ones perform exactly to specs. With this model, I can't confirm that it will boost the signal enough for a 100 foot run, but I can say that it will boost it enough for my configuration.
E6500 Laptop -> Dock -> 6ft cable -> AR DVI Repeater -> 6ft cable -> IOGEAR 4 port KVM -> 10ft cable -> monitor
