Sizes for the cablesMay 14, 2006
By Paul A. Jackson

The 186 is 12 ft. The 185 is 6 ft. The 184 is 3 ft. I bought the 186 and was very satisfied with the quality. It ships from Amazon as opposed to third parties with different shipping and handling rules.

Feels like a Quality Cable ... Acts Like A Quality CableJun 08, 2006
By bocabailey Purchased this cable over the Monster Cable as I think Monster Cables are over priced. The cable is very well shielded and feels solid. I own a Panasonic Plasma set with the HDMI going from a cable company HD DVR box into the TV. One HDMI cable takes the place of five others (3 component, 2 audio). Nice way to have a clean hook up. This cable won't disappoint you. Take the extra $50+ you save over the monster cable and take your wife out to dinner to help ease the pain of telling her you now want the HD DVD player.

Great Cable...May 23, 2006

Great Cable... Replaced the Belkin PureAV cable which was about $50 more. The belkin didn't even last 4 months before my screen began to turn Red, then to a snowy red w/ zero picture. It's obvious you don't need to go overboard w/ Monster, etc... & that a simple, quality made AR HDMI cable for a little over $40 won't do you wrong. Expensive shielded cables only make sense w/ analog signals anyway. We're dealing w/ zero's & one's here. The data either gets to the TV or it doesn't.

Plug end broke off, no response from ARAug 23, 2006

"Disappointed, but wiser"
The first time I needed to move my equipment the plug going into the HD cable box broke off. I've had no response to my e-mail from Acoustic Research Customer Service.
I read that as HDMI is digital, extreme cable quality is not required, with that in mind I got a GE HDMI cable for less than half the price and you cannot tell any difference.

Cheap wiring inside cable or no quality controlJan 29, 2007
By Lord Marshal the 1st Had this cable for a month. Suddenly my projector can't find hdmi signal. Of course I blame the dvd player. 3 dvd players later, still no signal. So I purchase another projector. Still no signal. Turns out when you bend the cable just right, the signal comes back. So it was a bad cable after all. The other reviewers are right, even in a bad cable, it's outstanding signal or nothing. I've purchase monster cable at their outrageously high prices and wanted to try something else. Guess I learned my lesson. Now 3 months later, I seriously doubt that the seller is going to exchange the cable for me. Monster has a lifetime, not that you would use it as I've had their cable for over 15 years. Now I know why I pay so much.
Update the seller says I have to contact the manufacturer for warranty repair. DON'T BUY!
