Home/ Kids/ Karaoke Use Only!Jun 17, 2011
By Martin P. There are random bursts of extremely loud interference when using this microphone. This is really not suitable for any situation outside of a home environment.
It is fairly solid for the price, as well as being loud & clear. Unfortunately the random & dramatic bursts of static mean this microphone is useless for anything other than amateur applications. This is the 2nd unit I have bought (the other was purchased outside of Amazon). I had hoped that the problems I experienced with the first one were bad luck/ a lemon as I have read decent reviews of this model elsewhere. I have found out that is not the case and although this mic might seem like a good deal, if it costs you a client it is not! Better to spend more money and get something reliable.
5 stars if this is for the kids to play around with - 1 star if you plan on using it in a professional situation or church etc.

Good for general purpose useJul 21, 2010
By Ostrander This mic is good for general purpose use. I would avoid using it for long periods of time (1H+) because unless you are using Duracell batteries it will die. There are a few issues with the mic regarding sound quality, occasionally it does drop out and create massive static buzzing, it also rarely makes a loud popping sound. The range on this mic is excellent, I have been at 300 yards with no issues. This mic has a tendency to deepen voices, it sounds very clear even in a poor acoustic setting. One downside is the lack of an XLR type connection on the back, however if you use quality short length cabling to connect it to your mixer, it will sound fine. Overall, a quality product at a cheap price.
UselessJul 03, 2011
By Parkside D Don't waste your money.
Bought for $100 from a local Long and Mcquade.
It is a wireless microphone, that periodically, without warning and quite noticeably makes a horrendous crackling, feedback-y interference type sound.
Therefore, it can't be used for live performance, nor can it be used for something as simple as a podium speech Mic.
I'm taking mine back tomorrow, and would recommend everyone to spend a little more and buy quality (or at least something that can be used for it's created purpose)
Dave
