Hum from computer correctedJun 18, 2011
By Roddy I purchased this cable to connect the audio out mini-pin from an iMac computer into the PC-Audio In of an LCD HDTV. This iMac must use a separate audio cable because the audio doesn't export from the Mini-DVI port as it does in the recent iMacs'. When I connected this cable, a loud hum was heard. I was able to correct the hum from the cable by purchasing a ground loop isolator for about $30. I noticed that this cable when used in the computer's audio mini-plug out (3.5mm--1/8") was the only time the hum was heard. When connecting it from the TV to an iPod Touch, or another mp3 player, the hum was not heard. Since these devices have fewer components that could cause electrical interference into the audio signal, this is probably why it wasn't experienced with these devices. Given the fact that the cost of this 50' cable is so low, and a comparable length plenum-rated cable would run above $35, this was a pretty good deal. The shielding may be the issue. If anyone needs specifics what i used and how, let me know.

Works great, no buzzing.Jul 06, 2009
By Valerie Calderon I purchased one m/m cable and one f/m cable, both 50ft, to run under the house from my computer to Logitech Z-4's in the livingroom, X-240's in the bedroom. Both work great, no buzzing, and the wire gauge is substantial. Inexpensive way to put on-line music in any room. I believe 75ft. cables are also available.

Perfect!Jun 28, 2009
By Unique This was exactly what I needed to get the sound from my computer Bose speakers to my boombox. Now I can listen to my (on-line only) radio programs from my boombox while I lay outdoors on my chaise lounge!

dont bite off more than you can chewFeb 12, 2011
By rodrigbrian This is a very well built cable, does exactly what you want, just remember no to go over board with the length. I got the 50ft. one and only needed like 25ft. one at the most, but i couldn't refuse the price. My only problem is that moving it allot can mess with the audio. Overall it is very thick and well built, so it is a good buy.

50 feet is a long way...Mar 15, 2009
By Robear Needed a long cable to get sound to a self-powered speaker. This worked great. Shipping, as always, was quick. You will probably want to plan on having something to wind it around so it doesn't tangle, but that is not a knock on the product.
