Ideal product for older desktop computersMar 31, 2009
By M. Schiegg I purchased this product for my old Dell Dimension 4400 desktop which only has the slower USB 1.1 ports. The card installed easily (no jumpers, etc.) and was recognized by Windows XP Professional with no problem. Windows XP installed all the necessary drivers automatically. I am using this card with a USB external hard drive (Western Digital "MyBook") and a Kingston 8gb flash drive. Both devices work fine with this card. As for speed, I am able to watch DVD movies that are stored on the external hard drive with no delays. I was not able to do that with the built-in USB 1.1 ports--the video was jumpy because the USB 1.1 port could not keep up with the data transfer. I am very satisfied with this product.

I was looking for a cheap USB 2 card to add slots to my computer. With so many devices now using USB connections I ran out of room on the back of my computer and hated resorting to ones on the side of my tower. Card installed easily and works great. For the price I don't think you can beat it.

By Judith J. Coumbs Excellent product. My husband easily installed it in a matter of minutes. An easy upgrade for our old XP Home Edition.
