One of my favorite childhood games!Sep 21, 2009 This game came free with my families very first computer and I was ADDICTED to this game. It was challenging enough that I wanted to play it often and keep trying, but easy enough to keep the game fun. I remember it being very educational, but not so much that it was boring. The challenges were very fun, and on higher difficulty levels could be even challenging to me now as a college student! I would definitely recommend this game!
Fun Learning, Aging GraphicsApr 25, 2009 Carmen Sandiego Word Detective is a fun game for my 1st Grader. It has a fun 'techy' interface that is appealing while still having fun graphics and an adventuresome plot.
It did not install on my Windows Vista machine, but unlike another reviewer, it installed just fine on my Windows XP home machine.
Fun for the kids, fun for the adults to engage them in reading.
Carmen AgainApr 07, 2009 Purchased for grandchildren. Genre typical of Broderbund and Carmen products. It appears to hold their interest and is a different approach to other boring language programs.

The kids love it!Apr 01, 2009 What more can I say? My kids (7yr old boy) and (9yr old girl) love it and I'm happy they're busy learning while being entertained.
Doesn't work on Mac OS XDec 31, 2008 I haven't been able to try it yet, since it doesn't work on Mac OS X. Will have to try it on PC XP system and see how it is. It claims to be Mac compatible, but it isn't.
