This is a 12"H Stand not 19"Jul 28, 2008
By Tracy Bowers Be careful the product dimensions are mis-leading. This is a 12" stand which may be too low for your center channel. I had to return mine because I thought this was 19" in height.
Other than that it looked like a nice stand and for $30 --- I doubt it can be beat.

Well built and a good priceJul 22, 2008
By Richard Smith When I ordered this, it wasn't clear if it was 12 or 18 inches tall, but figured for $30 I could live with it either way. This is in fact the CC-12 which is 12 inches tall. I have a 30 pound center channel sitting on top and this worked perfectly, very stable.

Simple, Effective, and a Little ExpensiveOct 29, 2010
By J. French The center speaker stand nicely fit my speaker. That said, It seemed a bit expensive for 4 flat boards painted black and screwed together. I put it right below a project screen. The 12" stand points up at a slight angle to direct the sound.
Good value center channel standMay 24, 2011

Upgrading from a large rear-projection TV to a plasma meant that I could no longer place my center channel speaker (Ohm Walsh Center) atop my TV. In looking for a center channel speaker stand I looked for one that would match the black, wood grain finish of my speaker, have an angled platform to aim the speaker at my ears when seated in the viewing chair, spikes to provide a solid, stable connection through the carpeting, be low enough so that the top of the speaker would be beneath the TV, and low price. The Solid Hardwood 12" model fits the bill in each of these cases. Note that the picture in the description seems to be for a 16" tall version, not the 12" version I purchased. Assembly was pretty simple. The finish is just okay. Nobody will mistake this stand for fine furniture. But with the speaker placed on this stand, the overall look is quite acceptable for the price. Most important, it is solid, stable, and easily supports my center channel speaker. The top plate is wide enough to accomodate most center channel designs. Although there is a groove built into the back of the stand to hide speaker wires, it is narrow, so if your speaker wires are thick, you will not be able to utilize this to conceal your speaker wires. Recommended.
Nice standAug 07, 2010
By monkuboy No complaints about this product. It comes in an efficient box - what I mean by that is there is no wasted space, and everything was packed securely and with sufficient padding to avoid scratches or other damage. The instructions are very clear; the product is quite easy to assemble and most people wouldn't really need instructions but they are there and straightforward if you want to make sure you are doing it right.
The quality of the product is fine. It has a nice, even black semi-gloss finish and you can see the grain patterns on the wood. The screw holes are accurately drilled and the hardware is of decent quality so you aren't going to easily strip the threads or screw holes, and the pieces will be assembled in proper alignment. I was initially considering a different brand but read too many reviews in which people complained about the quality of the product (stripped threads, pieces out of alignment, etc.). Wood Technology gets very good reviews overall and I have another pair of stands made by them so that's why I bought this one.
The spikes are nice and sturdy and help stabilize the unit. You will need to use pliers to screw these into the bottom base board.
Appearance-wise, it looks just like the picture. It's a quality unit and worth the price charged by Amazon (I paid a few dollars more to purchase it from them instead of the featured seller because of having prime two-day shipping; it actually arrived the next morning!). I see this same thing on other more specialized sites listed for more than twice the price.
Also, as the other reviewers have stated, this is the 12" size. The product listing fails to mention that fact.
