Remote Receptacle ControlNov 10, 2010
By poppy I Purchased the Chamberlain CLLAD Remote Light Control in order to have the ability to turn on a indoor house light from my car's HomeLink rearview mirror button (one of the 3 buttons that also control your garage door opener). It works just perfectly for about $15. The CLLAD just plugs into a receptacle, and your lamp then plugs into the CLLAD, then you program the HomeLink button per HomeLink instructions.
Now when we get home at night, I press my car's programmed HomeLink button to open the door on my detached garage, and another button to turn on an indoor house light. It's just that simple. We no longer enter into a dark house.
Remember, that the indoor light must be left in an on position, and turned on or off using the switch on the CLLAD itself, so select a receptable that you can easily reach. If you use the switch on the lamp itself to turn it off, you lose remote capability.
NOTE: I did program the CLLAD to HomeLink while it was plugged into a garage receptacle so that I could see that once programmed, I would be able to press the HomeLink button and see that the light did toggle on or off without having to keep going into the house.

disappointedNov 23, 2009
By M'ville I bought this so that I could turn on a light in the house from my car so it wouldn't be dark inside when I got home. However, it does not work unless I'm within 8 ft of it and in direct line of sight (and yes, I replaced the remote batteries, etc). So I basically have to be in the house standing in front of it to get it to work which is very disappointing. If you already have a remote that works with this controller then it might be worthwhile to purchase it. I've now replaced the CLLAD with the Skylink WS-100/WSN-100N (which comes with both the remote and controller for less than the CLLAD controller alone) and it does exactly what I want - it works from the end of my driveway, which is 50 ft long, even with walls and furniture between the remote and the controller. AWESOME!

Great purchase!Feb 20, 2009

I used to use a timer on our yard light, which kept the light on longer than necessary. This unit along with a remote control allows us to easily turn the light on and off as needed. No problems with it. It functions just as described.

Wish there were a hard wired version, needs ground.Apr 27, 2009
By MussSyke This thing is great - it works every time smooth as silk. I do wish there was a version meant to be hard wired, as I'm using it in a location I want to keep waterproof (or at least as much as possible). Also, it should have a ground - I tapped a ground from another circuit, which is fine. But then I realized that I had it reversed polarized and I was suddenly in potentially dangerous territory. Not sure if it was the plug or the unit in question that allowed that to happen, though.
I'd give it a 4.9 if I could. I just hate to see things imperfect.
Not Chamberlain, but works perfectlyMar 07, 2012
By KiKi Purchased thru bigdoorguy, and received it promptly. However, the remote box was so old and teared but taped that it seems to be left inside the garage many years ago. The inside CLLAD Remote is clean though, but it is not Chamberlain. The remote is manufactured by Liftmaster. Setup is so easy to follow the instruction, and it works perfectly with all my other 3-buttons Chamberlain garage and mini remotes. The plug of the ground is plastic, which means there is no ground, and designed to be used for light only. Since all electric outlet ground pointed to the bottom, you have to plug it in with the input outlet faced to the right side. There is also a push down switch (below the semi curved shaped as showd in picture) that turn on the light manually. The seller should specify the exact brand name on the list. Since it is still working perfectly, I did not return it especially deal with third party, not Amazon. So be aware to order this item, but receive the different brand named one.
