Works GreatMar 15, 2011
By Weldon L. Knape Occasionally I would forget one of the garage doors open at night. This add-on sensor allows me to monitor the second door. It works perfectly, and I know when I go to bed if a door is open.

Did anyone at Chamberlain even test these devices?Jan 30, 2010
By K. Leitman I bought the pickup unit with sensor and an extra sensor in one shot. This device gets confused all the time with two sensors, and sometimes the signal does not get picked up at all, from even a few feet away. I've never had a wireless device that was so useless. I think I'll just buy a few roller switches and hardwire a doorbell/LED to them. Just too bad I waited so long to test this out before I found out how they worked.

I got this product a while back and once set up it worked for about nine months to a year and then for whatever reason, it just stopped working. I tried replacing the battery in the sensor and this didn't work. After resetting and moving the base unit closer to the sensor it appeared to work. However, its required resetting approximately every 3 months from that point on, so go figure.

By e1e The website didn't mention how it works and I ordered it based on average good reviews. However, when I received it I immediately decided to return it based on the working mechanism indicated on the package. It would be attached to the surface of garage door. When the door is closed, since its position is vertical, no alarm will be set off. When the door is opened, this gadget will move to a horizontal position as the door moves to the top rail, so the alarm is sent to the main unit. How about if the door is not entirely closed? Say some object is on the floor and blocks the door to close completely, like a piece of wood or a yard tool? Not mention anything else such as signal strength or temperature ranges. I will find something else that can give me an alarm when the door is not completely closed instead of only when the door is completely opened.
