At first glance, the box seemed to be as advertised, but, after powering up, we soon realized that the fan blade had seperated itself from the motor. Upon closer inspection, the blade had a "glue" like substance that had failed. As opposed to going through the hassle of taking it down from the mounting brackets and sending it back, we're just going to replace the fan mechanism from a local supplier.

I run a small CCTV integration biz... Oddly enough this thing was 2/3 the price of my dealer cost for comparable units. I was a little worried based on other reviews, but the fans worked on the unit I got.
I give it 4 stars because the fans are pretty noisy. Also, the lock is not as heavy duty as I would like to see. It seems like with a simple screw driver or crowbar you could easily get enough leverage to pop it. I mainly just use units like this to "keep honest people honest" and prevent tampering. However, at the end of the day if a bad guy wants into one of these things it won't take much.
I'm not sure why these things cost so much... metal and cheap box fans couldn't cost more than $15 to manufacture in large quantities.... But, I guess that's the price we have to pay. I just ordered another.

Works well for my use except for a few issues.
1. The front panel had a death grip on the top panel. I had to beat it open with a mallet. Apparently the front panel was not built big enough to account for the powder coating. I ended up having to scrap a bit off the inside edge of the front panel to get it to come off smoothly.
2. The lock mechanism is about useless. It was so easy to bypass that I do not believe it is even a viable "security" feature. The most the lock will do is keep the top panel from flinging open (assuming it will even open). Aside from that, it was easy to defeat with some pressure. The lock would have been better served as a latch and handle for the front panel.
For my uses it is adequate after I was able to open the front panel. I am not using the lock, so it is not important to me, but the "Lock Box" description is very misleading given the simplicity of defeating the lock.

It is a very well made box. It will be perfect for what i needed. The lock arm need a place to hook to make it more safe.
