Nice, but far from best,.Oct 29, 2007
By Dan Depew I purchased this a few days ago to go on a long road trip with some other buddies all driving cars, and I would have to say the set up is nice. The only downfall to the system is it seems a little too cheap for 500$. The radar pickup is not as quick as some of the escort models, and it has quite a few false alerts. I would say if your looking to buy one, good choice - you will be happy over all, but wait until it drops in price a bit.

Better Radar Detectors Out There!!May 22, 2011
By J First of all I have waited to write a review until I have actually used the radar detector for what we all buy it for! I just drove from Virgina to Florida and back...total 1693 miles! Got a ticket (for radar detector) 5 miles from the N. Carolina border South on I-95 at 9mm, VG-2 and Spectre 1 detectors where active and no alert was given. State Officer walked up to my driver window and first words was "where is your radar detector"....$101.00 dollar ticket....to continue on during my trip down I-95 there was so many false alerts I was about to throw it out the window! Driving down I-95 about every 3 min I got a Ka alert!, but never seen a cop car. I am experienced with radar detectors. The second most annoying feature with this system was the battery life with the "controler". It only last about 2 hrs and I had to constantly juggle from my GPS and my IPod to keep it alive! I don't know why this system cost the money it does cuz I have had so much better luck with so many other much cheaper systems!

CAUGHT ALL RED LIGHT CAMERAS AND VIDEO CAMERASSep 21, 2008
By Serge This unit performed as advertised. Has minimal false alarms as I drive through the city, and has not failed to give reminder 3 warnings as I approached the red light zones.
As far as a radar detector, NY has so much traffic, potholes, and red lights that its hard to speed even if you tried. :)

REVIEW of Cobra Electronics 12 Band Radar/laser DetectorAug 05, 2007
By Christian R. Abaunza Very nice setup, only downfall is that its not as good as a Bel rx65 or STI when it comes to Radar falsing and sensitivity. But it makes up for it with its GPS Photo enforcement feature. It would be nice if the alarm tones could be changed around. Like all the reviews on the internet say, "its got Potential", but still needs some attention to detail to make this a premium detector like the Bel rx65, STI, or Valentine products.
awesomeJul 22, 2011
By J. watterson This may not be the best but it gives you plenty of warning when the state troopers are on montoring mode with a single always tracking. Use out on the open road picks up for a mile or more no problem. The gps for the red light cameras seem to be right on.
