RIP OFFDec 29, 2007

If you're looking for rechargeable D cell batteries do not waste your time and money on these AA's wrapped in plastic. I made the mistake of purchasing these and have to charge them after every use of the device. I'm so disappointed in Energizer for passing these AA's wrapped in a D-shell at a much higher price than their AAs. I've now done the research and will avoid Energizer at all costs.

I wish I could give this zero starsAug 28, 2008
By P. Williams These batteries are the most worthless rechargeable batteries on the market- no, really... By Energizers own admission, the capacity is equal to a double A (AA). These are AA batteries in a container that will fit devices that require D cell- well, it simply does not work. You will find them running for 30 minutes and failing, just as if you were running your device on AA batteries, which you are. DO NOT BUY THEM; I wasted 40 dollars which is a lot to me. I wish to God I could send them back, but the hoops, barrels, and rings of fire Energizer makes you jump over and through to return them for their "completely satisfied" policy makes it not worth the 40 dollars. DO NOT BUY.

too late!Dec 30, 2007
By Quigdaddy Sure wish I had read the above review before I bought them! I completely agree: these are AA batteries in a D-size shell, for 3x the price.

Very Little Juice for a Size D Battery - Same Rating as a AAAug 13, 2008
By Nuknuk 2500mAH - compare this rating with ordinary AA Nimh rechargeables. You'll see a lot of AA's equal and even higher than 2500mAh. No wonder they are very light and HOLLOW. Easy to break because of the empty space inside.
This is one of the first size D Nimh rechargeables that I have bought and seen on the market. You can do as well with AA's using C & D spacers.
Not a good buy.

Misleading PricingMar 06, 2008
By Yosemite Mark I also bought these batteries thinking that they would be much higher in capacity because they are "D"s and are about 4 times more expensive that "AA"s. But as previously noted, they are simply the same 2500mAh "AA" battery in a bigger case. However, it does say on the package 2500mAh, so buyer beware. Don't be bamboozled like me.
