First, buyer beware! The pole/stands can -not- fit 14AWG wire through them. I imagine most people buying speaker stands will probably have purchased replacement wire for their home theater system, and unfortunately most people are not buying really thin wire replacements. If you want to hide wires using this, make sure you have 18AWG thin wire. You -may- be able to fit 16AWG in it, but I can't thread more than an inch of 14AWG wire through it.

The metal poles don't look bad, however they're not too terribly sturdy and can bend easily if you're a bit rough-handed with it. I wouldn't expect that to be a real problem in ownership, but if someone crashes into and knocks over the stand, there's a chance that the metal will bend. The glass used in the base isn't too bad, it looks nice and I have no qualms with it...however, the glass itself doesn't sit on the floor, these plastic feet that use adhesive tape stick on the bottoms of the glass panel to raise it off the ground (the pole uses a bolt on the underside of the glass panel so it has to be raised off the ground). Honestly, if I realized that, I would -not- have purchased them.

The stands come with 3 different speaker 'mounts' if you can call them that. One of them uses double-sided sticky tape, presumably for speakers with no mount of any sort and have a flat bottom base. The one that I am using, unfortunately, is this L metal piece that attaches to the pole with a screw and your speaker with a screw...however, the provided screws are much too long so the speakers have lots of travel. This isn't a deal breaker, it just makes the whole setup feel flimsier. The third mount, which is what I expected to be using, is a screw post that screws into the pole...and I would honestly expect the other side to be threaded so you can mount the speakers that have a screw-hole somewhere on their base...however, it's not threaded at all. So one would have to have speakers with a decent sized hole in the base, and there's nothing actually holding the speaker on the pole.

Ultimately, I would not buy these again. I thought they looked nice from the pictures, and I figured I'd take a chance on them for the price. Needless to say, I'm still in the market for some minimalistic, nice looking stands (I'm in an apartment so no wall mounting for me).
