Used with 25865GE3 base unit, but don't buy it.Oct 08, 2007
By Bruce S. Bertram (Review from the 25865GE3 base unit, posted here also in case you didn't see the review there.) Junk. We bought the base and two handsets in 02/07, and in 10/07 the base unit just suddenly stopped transmitting to the handsets. Warranty is to send back to Texas for service. Nice - no phones for weeks on end? It was fortunate we hadn't thrown out the old ones. Sound quality is poor, transmission between base and handset is poor, and the date keeps reverting back to 2005 (the default). When it reverts back to 2005, the messages are recorded as being on the wrong date. It's also hard to see the display unless it's lit. There are a lot of good features, and the answering section seems to work fine (except for the date), so it's a shame these are such poor quality.
If and when we get them fixed, I don't know that they will really be fixed. For the money ($190.00), there's got to be better products available than worthless General Electric waste-of-space stuff like this.
Update 10/05/09. My opinion just went even lower. Today the replacements quit working again same as before. Had to use old AT&T phones. Looking for new phones now instead of sending these back. I'll never buy another GE phone system again.

GE 5.8 GHz Wireless Phones Are Simply the best!Sep 25, 2009

This GE 5.8 GHz Wireless Phones Are Simply the best! I Work from home doing Photography and Graphic Design work. The GE Wireless two line phones are perfect for a small business with ether two phone lines or as I use them with one line for my house phone and line 2 for my work number. The Sound is crystal clear and the range is; well I can go to my neighbor's house and they work fine. The battery life is also very good as they will run laying around out of the charging base for almost a week before they start telling you they need to be charged with the battery status meter in the information screen and if they get low while your on the phone they have a quiet beep warning that the phone needs to be charged. The display screen has all the information you can imagine on it as in caller ID, Massage indicator for both lines, All the phones status from the phone name that you can change to read Phone 1 or Business Phone Line 2 or what ever you like. The main base station has Voice Mail for both lines and an electronic voice by default or you can record any away message you like for ether line. Indicators blink on the phone line that has the massage and you can listen to you messages from the base station or ether phone. I have a second phone with a satellite charging station so I can have one in my office and one phone in my living room or where ever you like. There are so many features in these phones I would have to write a book about them, But if your looking for a 2 line Wireless Phone for home or work I don't think you will find a better quality, Easier to use with all the included options anywhere for the price and GE Quality that we have come to know and trust as one of the worlds best in design, manufacturing and quality products. Check out the GE line, I think you'll be very happy with these phones. I have had my GE Phones for almost 2 years with absolutely No Problems at all. Happy Phoning.

By Sam I purchased this handset to replace a handset that I purchased about three years ago. This handset is one of three two line handsets in my phone system at my home office. They are used heavily and perform well. I would recommend this system for any small business requiring a two line system.

Phone GE 5.8 GHZ - 2 Line Accessory Handset-for 25865GE3Mar 02, 2008

Phone Syncing with Base Station was easy. You just need to be next to the Base Station when syncing. I mean withing a foot or two. You can not sync from across the room. Other than that it no issues.
