Bought these as a spare set for my iPad, they work ok, not the greatest sound quality.. But they are good for the price.

I am not an audiophile but know when I hear decent sound. I bought these at Bi-Mart because they were cheap and I give them plenty of abuse. I was amazed by the quality for the price. When my first pair failed I couldn't find another so I got an $18 pair of competitor earbuds that sounded like they were at the end of a tunnel, it was then I realized how much better the GE's were. I sought out another pair these to replace the first. My second pair have just failed after a year, the strain relief is just not good enough. Going to get a 3rd pair and try putting some glue on the wire entering the bud, there is plenty of distance to the speaker so it should not cause problems.
TLDR:
Don't pull on the cord to the bud and they will give you good sound. If you are an audiophile you can do better but will have to pay for it.
