I got this personal DVD player before flying to NY (5 1/2 hour flight!). Picture was clear, sound was good...Watched two full movies before battery ran out. I hate flying and this did the trick for me.

We got this DVD player for Christmas from my mother. We used it approximately 8 times before the car jack cable stopped working. The power cord to charge it, only works if you set on a book on top of it and wiggle it around. It will charge but after 10 minutes the battery goes dead. What a piece of junk. It is virtually brand new and we can't use it. I contacted GPX and was told that I'd have to contact technical support. What a waste of money. I will NEVER buy anything GPX again. Oh..and to top it off: the earbuds that came with it I figured I could use with my iPod. After using them 3 times the left side stopped working. Wow.

After one week end, less than 5 hours of use, there is no sound. The AV cable is only available through the gpx company, it can't even be ordered online, and no other cable will work. Don't waste your money on this.

Good picture quality, sound, and size; however very hard to charge. The input hole for the adapter doesn't connect right, so takes some rigging (if you can get it to connect to get power, or charge, at all). What good is a great portable dvd player if you can't get any power for it to work? If that wasn't a problem, I'd say "great product."

I received the PD708 as a present for twenty years at my company. It sat in the box for about a year before I tried to use it with my grandchildren on a long road trip to another state. Only problem was that it didn't work. The power chord did not fit into the unit, so we could not charge it up or power it from the automobile. When you tried to close the unit it didn't close well. The bottom line is that it is a very cheap unit and is poorly built. I have contacted the company looking for a replacement, but have had little success in getting a new one. My advice; stay away from this thing! This is my first encounter with GPX company and to their credit an individual did write me back, but that was four days ago and I haven't heard from him since. Go somewhere else!
