Before I start praising, I'll get my only complaint out of the way. You have to toggle through all of the inputs to get to whatever input you want to use, rather then 1 button like DVD, Cable, etc. Not a big deal if you have a macro capable remote.
I have the same HD STB on my 60" CRT projection TV as I have on my CRT Marquee 8500 on a 110" screen, and the picture is night and day. The smaller screen was not sharper and showed more artifact, which is not what I expected. You won't get more detail, but the detail that is there will be more visible and sharper. I was watching a standard def baseball game and there was a close up on 2nd base that I could clearly see insanely small clumps of dirt that up close were visible but fuzzy and full of artifact on my TV.
I've never seen any of the more expensive ones, so I won't say it is as good as them, but, if you are reading this, you obviously want a better picture for a cheap price, which is exactly what you'll get.

This is a great product if you have a commercial grade LCD or Plasma or even a PC monitor that does not have component inputs. I spec this for work and it looks great every time. @ component in and 1 DVI/HDMI to DVI-D out.
