By D I purchased this product for the Honeywell name but it is actually "Plastiflex." It should not be advertised using the Honeywell brand - very misleading.

By segale Purchased this to replace our old one when the kick plate broke off. Installed in about 10 minutes once we figured out how to get to the wiring. Works great now! DIY project.

By David Jones Although I ordered and paid for a Honeywell, what was shipped was branded "Vacpan" and manufactured by a Canadian company called Plastiflex. For all I know, it is the same product. It appears the same. If I remember correctly, I could have ordered the Vacpan brand for a few dollars less. I paid more because I trust the Honeywell brand. The description on Amazon says the Honeywell has a 2 year warranty. I don't know if the Vacpan has a warranty at all.
The install is straightforward. Simple PVC plumbing and low voltage wiring, so if you have any experience in those areas, it shouldn't be too hard. I installed mine in the toekick of a base cabinet. I have not completed the rest of my kitchen remodel and so have not used the product much. I intend to run a bead of caulk between the bottom of the VacPan and the tile floor as it looks like it will be difficult to sweep dirt into the VacPan if I don't
The design allows small items like toothpicks to get stuck between the door and the flange, which then causes a vacuum leak when the central vac is being used elsewhere. Not so easy to remove.
