Returned Item TwiceAug 31, 2006

I was really looking forward to this mouse working great. But it didn't. I bought one and it broke down. Returned it for another one. Same thing happened. So I returned the second one for a refund.
I went thru a whole trouble shooting process with Kensington Tech Support the first time to no avail.

Decent Economy MouseDec 10, 2006
By Mike I like this mouse a lot. I use it in my laptop case. However if you put it in a case, like a travel case, leave the batteries out. The movement inside the bag keeps the mouse "awake" thus draining the batteries.
A lot of people complained about the jittery movement and I dont see it. I do perform a lot of graphical work and it seems to be ok. So I am unsure where that comes from. To make my review simpler, let me just list some pros and cons.
PRO: Comfortable rubber grip, decent performance for a wireless mouse, good price, runs on standard AA batteries, so you can go ANYWHERE to get batteries for it. (Unlike some which use odd ball battery packs).
CONS: Software (Had some issues, read below), the amount of time it takes the mouse to be "discovered" by the USB receiver, succeptible to RF interference. (In strong RF fields, like those near a directional AM station, it can hiccup, but thats rare).
Software. DO NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE THAT COMES WITH THE MOUSE IF YOU USE A LAPTOP. The software is clumsy, but even worse, it overrites some DLL files in a laptop needed to control the touchpad. If you don't mind not having loony features like one click ctrl+alt , etc., just install the USB reader and let Windows discover and install the mouse. Windows XP and 2000 should do this with no problem. You will still have scroll bar capabilities, etc.

Never got mine to work... I had to return it.Jan 25, 2007

After hooking up my mouse and installing the latest software off the Kensington website, I could not get this mouse to work. Tried fresh batteries, tried different USB ports, tried everything Kensington asked to no avail... So I took it back.
The buttons and the rubber grip felt great. The buttons had a strong tactical feel and the rubber does not make your hand slip like on other Kensington designs. The software is very robust and highly customizable for Mac OS X too. At a store price of $30, it's not a bad deal, assuming you can find one that works. I opted to try another Microsoft mouse since I've been used to using one for several years now.

big disappointmentApr 19, 2008

I bought this mouse because I needed a mouse quickly and this was the only thing the store had that was comparable to my Microsoft mouse. It seemed like a good thing at the time; howevre, I have regretted it from the moment I bought it. I suppose it is fine if you are not used to being able to program each button exactly the way you want. For example, I am used to having the button closest to the back of the mouse being the "back" button for my browser. I use "back" more than I use "forward", thus it is easier to slip my thumb to the side rather than have to move my hand to reach the first side button. With this mouse you do not have the option to change that part of the side buttons. You may change them for other things but cannot change which one is "forward" and which one is "back".
Batteries - it goes through batteries faster than any other mouse I've used. I'm used to my Microsoft mouse lasting for months rather than having to change batteries every week or so - even though it goes to sleep constantly and is difficult to wake up.
The pointer has a tendency to jump to wherever it pleases, even though I have not checked the box for it to "snap to default". Other than that, I don't really have a problem with the way the cursor works.
It tends to lose contact with its sensor often and it is only two feet from the sensor with no obstacles in the way.
The only way I would recommend this mouse is if it is the first mouse of this sort that you have ever used and are not used to mouses that work differently. Even then, you need to be aware that battery life is short and you will spend a lot of money changing batteries.

Jittery - moves too fastNov 17, 2006

I bought this mouse because it was a bit larger than the average. I don't know about you, but if the mouse is too small, I get a hand cramp. The feel of the mouse is really good.
On the functional side, it works OK if you turn the sensitivity down on the control panel, but becomes quite annoying when I undock my laptop and want to use the touch pad - I have to reset the sensitivity again and again and again!
Not Kensington's best work if you asked me. If you use this with a desktop, it will be just fine. I would not recommend use with a laptop. I am considering returning this one.
