5Great product at an even better price!Jun 09, 2007
By G. Canfield
First off I bought this for my LG VX8300. It works perfectly for that phone, hope that helps. I originally bought a simple converter from Radio Shack for the same price and it was broken within the day. This (for the same price) simply takes your 2.5 headset jack and converts it to a 3.5 headset jack. Once its at a 3.5 you can plug in your headphones, car tape adapter, whatever uses a normal headset jack. The image makes the converter look HUGE for some reason, but in reality, the converter part is actually a bit smaller than a quarter. The length of the cable though for everything is about 6 feet.

(Please note that this review was used for MY phone, I cant promise it will work the same for yours, sorry...)

PROS: Plug-n-play. Plug in the adapter and hit play on your phone and your good to go. The converter works for everything and now I'm in business. The mike on the converter means that I don't have to switch every call that comes in to another headset or unplug the jack. The button on the phone answers the call easily, and the volume control knob on the actual converter is a huge plus. No pressing buttons on the phone to turn the volume down when someone wants to talk to you. There is also fairly heavy-duty clip on the converter, so clip it to your shirt (or whatever) and don't expect it to break or fall off any time soon.

CONS: The ear-buds that came with the converter work great! Unfortunately the other headphones that I tried with it didn't. Both my Sony over-the-ear and my KOSS headphones failed to give out good sound levels, with the phone AND the converter at the max volume it was about normal for even louder songs. Strangely though, the ear-buds work fine and deliver ear splitting sound. Bad news if your not a fan of the ear-buds, but its not that bad of a con. The mike on the converter is amazing for picking up voices, but sadly it also picks up alot of background noise as well, say for example, the mike bumping your shirt when you walk. You can simply hold it close to your mouth every time you need to talk to someone...buy why? Lastly the wires for the ear-buds are those ones where the cable to the right side is longer then the left one for some reason. I don't really care, but its still to be noted.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Amazing converter at an amazing price. It does have a few cons and it may not support your phone fully, but it does the job for mine just fine. Don't get those other converters, go for this. Music lovers will not regret it.

4Functionality is pretty good.Apr 11, 2007
By J. Boyd "Gadget"
I ordered two of these for my two LG cell phones. The sound clarity is pretty good, and the volume control works pretty well. You can answer the phone, and end the call, by pushing on the little silver button. I've been told that the voice quality from the headset is very good as well. The only problem is the shape of the earbuds; they don't stay in my ears very well. They should have included the rubber snap-on type buds that conform to different ear canal sizes.

Also, be careful of the varying prices on the Amazon site. The prices fluctuate from $12 to $24 for supposedly the same item (I ordered the $12 version from Webtreo).

4Better than paying for the Verizon Music Essentials KitOct 24, 2008
By S. W. Clark
Ordered two sets of headphones for our LG VX8350 phones. The cord is plenty long and microphone picks up pretty well, though it will also catch lots of background noise if you're outside or in a louder environment. The earbuds are surprisingly comfortable for being hard plastic, and as others have noted, the volume can get as loud as you need it. Having the volume dial on the headset is certainly helpful.

The only drawback I've found is that the call answer button on the headset doesn't work with the VX8350. I have to actually pull out the phone and hit a button to answer like normal, but after that it's smooth sailing. All told, not a big deal for the rarer times that I need it.

It's definitely a better deal than buying the $20-30 Music Essentials Kit from Verizon. Load your music directly to the MicroSD card from your computer, stick it in the phone, plug in these headsets and you're good to go! Shipping time was reasonable and headsets arrived in good order.

5Wonderful Product!Oct 10, 2007
By Chinab4u
This item is great because it can be used for listening to music with your phone, as well as for answering the phone without doing much to change functions. All you have to do is press the "answer/hang up" button to answer your call when you get the alert and your music is paused. It's a wonderful product.
