Excellent keystone jacks for high speed dataJan 08, 2010
By voodoo I install between 30-50 of these keystone jacks per month. They are marked for easy identification between T568A or T568B and feature high-quality terminals that hold both solid and stranded wire securely without breaking the wire.
They snap-in to Leviton's faceplates easily (make sure you have the faceplate turned the correct direction, there is an "UP" side and it's marked on the back of the faceplate) and also snap into Panduit faceplates and other manufacturers that make snap-in faceplates.
Removing them is as simple as pressing down on the small tab on top of the jack, and then pushing down on the back of the jack. Patch cables snap securely into the jack opening.
All around a quality product, I recommend them for Cat5e data installations.
Easy to installMar 20, 2012
By James Taylor It was easier to work with and connect the cat5 to this connector that if the connector was built into the wall plate (which would have made it bulkier). The connector snapped right into the wall plate after connecting. If I can do it, believe me, anyone can do it.
Color coded in house Ethernet wiringMar 11, 2012
By J. B. Thomson I recently completed a project to run Category 5E Ethernet cable throughout my house, including moving my primary AirPort Extreme Base Station to a more central location. Having used the Leviton QuickPort connectors in the past, I knew that the only hard part was actually running the cable. By using pairs of different colored 5G108-Rx5 QuickPort connectors, I was able to color code all the different runs. Every connection worked great the first time. The connectors (not Leviton) now being stocked at local home center stores did not appear to be the same level of quality, so I searched for the Leviton QuickPort on Amazon and that is when the idea of color coding the circuits hit me.

"different security"
I bought a mixture of Cat5e connectors. Leviton was was solid and pricey. With the $2 no-name connectors I found myself re-seating the wires several times to get a correct fit. Seat, test, unseat, re-cut, seat, test, unseat, etc. These were easy to connect with clear identification of "A" or "B" standard. The polymer used on these is superior to the cheap plastic on lesser products. Worked the first time. I'm glad I paid a few dollars more and saved myself grief.
