I bought mine at a home improvement store similar (sounds like "gnome repo"), and I paid more than double the price Amazon is selling it for.
I've used a few other testers that just test for continuity on the corresponding pins, and they take maybe 10 seconds to get a complete result. This tester gives you a result within a second of pressing the test button, and it tells what, if anything, you did wrong. This is a must have, even if you have to certify the cables. While a network certifier usually tests connectivity first, it still takes a lot longer to do it, and you could be using that time to fix any mistakes in your terminations, or breaks in cables. When I certify cables/networks, I always use this tester before testing with the certifier.

Very useful for maaking sure link is functioning correctly or if their is an error in the cabling or connectors, I would definately purchase again.
