I purchased this product approximately 60 days ago. While the sound quality was initially good, the cassette mechanism started (and has continued) to make a very, very, loud clicking noise. Unless the stereo system is played at a very high volume, the clicking noise is very distracting. I replaced it with a cheap $8.99 alternative which has performed well.

I bought this adapter from Monster since Monster is a reputable brand and my old Sony adapter from 1999 has exposed wires and ejects from time to time. The feedback from the Monster adapter was so loud I could barely hear my music. I adjusted it to a point where it was tolerable and it still sounded awful. I actually use my broken Sony adapter over this one since the sound is crystal clear. This was the second one I bought from Monster and both sounded terrible. You could buy a $3 no name adapter from Radioshack and it will sound 100% better than this product.

I would not recommend this for anyone who is an audiofile. The sound quality is not great. However, for most of us who don't notice the sound quality it is great, it sounds like a standard radio music transmissions but it is not cd quality. It is pretty cheap and it allows you to charge AND listen to your ipod or iphone for those long road trips.

Mine didnt work at all.... I couldnt hear anything over the high pitched static it produced. ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I should have known better than to buy from Monster again. But I was in a rush so I did it.
To start with, this adapter is TWICE the price of competing models. I figured maybe it was a little better made. Nope.
Typical Monster thinking, "Our name doubles the value of any cheap product".
I recommend buying the cheaper ones. They aren't more cheaply made, just marked up less.
