Technical Specifications are ErroneousJan 18, 2007

My MIDLAND 21-406 Extension Speaker was delivered yesterday. Multiple websites, including MIDLAND's, stated it was an 8-ohm, 15W speaker. It is actually a 4-ohm, 20W speaker. MIDLAND admitted today (01/18/07) that the specifications were wrong and they were "correcting" the website. It's probably a good speaker, but 4-ohm vs. 8-ohm is important to many folks, especially me.

Excellent UpgradeAug 29, 2009
By Jeffrey L. Yates I'm using these speakers on two scanners and some high-grade commercial quality VHF marine band radios with excellent results.
They are marked 4 ohms @ 20 watts which means they'll more than handle the typical 2-4 watt audio output from any scanner, CB or communications radio.
A definite upgrade from several other model Midland speakers I've used overthe past twenty years.
I can run my volume at normal or lower settings with much better audio quality with less hiss or distortion than heard on the built-in speakers in the radios.
Well worth the money!

Incorrect Product info.Jul 17, 2007
By J. Oggier I have no doubts that for the correct application and intended pairing of this device with a CB, this would be an amazing speaker. The issue is that the Midland CB Radio I had purchased requires a 5-Watt 8-Ohm speaker, as this was advertised and what I received in the package was a 15-Watt 4-Ohm speaker. Mounting is amazing, and it seems like a sturdy speaker with great/easy mounting hardware. However, it is not nearly as loud as I would appreciate due to it requiring a 15-Watt output.
