great speaker wire - shipped very fastAug 08, 2008
By SDS i was not expecting this item till next week but found it on my porch today!!! shipped very fast. it is worth it to pay a little more for good speaker wire, and monster is good wire. i used 14 guage (not 16 or smaller) to wire up a whole house audio system. some spans are as much as 48 feet away from my receiver and everything sounds great. the white housing trims easily to reveal the standard 2 wires jacketed in red and black.

Excellent speaker wire for in-wall installationOct 23, 2010
By D. Matheny First, let me say that I typically steer clear of anything with the Monster Cable brand on it because I feel it is overpriced. That's why I was surprised to find this 500ft spool of 14ga cable for such a reasonable price.
Last year I used this cable to wire a surround system in my family room and it has worked perfectly. The cable is very flexible and has a marking for every 1' of length, so it's easy to tell how much you've pulled. (The mark isn't just a tick, it actually has the number of feet printed.) It has a low-friction shielding so it's easy to pull and an internal rip-cord helps remove the shielding when you're tying this into speakers.
This is 14ga wire, which was perfect for my usage. Anything smaller starts to impact sound quality on longer runs, and larger wire is a pain to work with for some connectors and speakers.
Overall, I would highly recommend this cable. To me, this strikes a perfect balance between price and performance.

I have been looking for in wall rated speaker wire for a long time, and these are one of the cheapest I have seen for 14 awg CL2 rated. I would never by name brands, but it is an extra perk to get Monster cable cheaper than some of the generics I have see. It comes in an easy to pull spool..

Good price for in-wall speaker wireDec 25, 2007
By James Cooper Stay in-line or above your local electrical codes. If you run speaker wire behind walls, use this type of wire.

Takes sound from one place to anotherMay 20, 2009
By P. Hobbs I'm no expert, but I purchased this spool because it is sheathed and I was installing it in a wall and through an insulated attic. Works great. The only reason I bought Monster Cable was because of the price I found. Otherwise, I would've gone "generic".
