 Fine product, BUT!Jan 01, 2007

As usual, this item carries the Olympus high standards of quality. I can't see anything negative about it as far as my experience with it goes. I will not get the chance to evaluate it's function, however, since Amazon listed it for the E500 camera (which I purchased at the same time), and this AC adapter does NOT work with the E500 camera. NO adapter works with that camera since there is no DC input jack.
Amazon listed this adapter wrong, but won't reimburse my return shipping cost. BEWARE if you are looking at this as an accessory for the Olympus E500. It is correct for the E1 and E300 cameras, though. Shame on you Amazon!

This is spec'ed as working on the e300 and e1 - I bought an E3 after having used several E300s with this adapter and found they used the same square power input on it and the voltage was the same so it works on those 3 at a minimum. Not sure about the newer (after E3) cameras.
With the more modern cameras the need for an AC adapter is falling off due to reduced power consumption. If you use the live view screen alot for studio work then this adapter might be helpful. Another alternative is to double the battery capacity with the Olympus HLD-4 POWER BATTERY HOLDER E-3 HLD4 which gives you the option of 1 or 2 li-ion packs, a second compliment of knobs and buttons for portrait mode, and also a 6 cell AA battery pack for emergencies.
Having used the HLD4 on 2 different E3s I should warn people the AA option never seems to be the right voltage on the E3. With fresh alkaline AAs, the low power indicator comes on almost instantly, and with lithium (E91) AAs its the same story. When using 2 normal li-ion packs that came with the camera, however, it runs for more than twice the usual run time so an all day shoot is no problem.

This is a very well made AC adapter. Works perfectly. The price is substantial, but the item exudes quality and came beautifully packaged. The box will serve for storage. Certainly solves the problem of battery power when doing long term interval photography. I'm delighted with it.

Cost a lot but made momma happy. If momma ain't happy then nobody happy. Cheaper than the Olympus store as well.
