great investment for the priceAug 26, 2008
By chris I really like the size its so slim and small you can put it in your pocket with no bulk. At times I forget I even have it my pocket its really light. The only thing I didn't care for was the directions didn't tell you how to figure out stride lenght.

Great Pedometer - HALF price elsewhereMar 18, 2010
By V. J. Mckenna I love this pedometer - it is compact and lightweight. You can put it in your pocket, sock, or wherever. After I purchased this one, I found an almost identical one at LLBean for $29.95. It looks exactly the same except for the markings "L.L.Bean" instead of "Oregon Scientific". Save yourself $30 & get it there. It's called a Stowaway Pocket Pedometer at LL Bean.

Great PedometerApr 09, 2009
By Drew Thurman My employer just gave me one of these and I searched the value here on Amazon. The price has come down considerably. It used to be $70. So I had to edit my review about it not being worth the money. Now it is worth it. It is an awesome pedometer!. It fits anywhere I want to keep it without bothering me. I've had it now for almost a year.
The most difficult feature of the pedometer was that it did not have a trip feature AND it resets every night at midnight. That means if you wanted to know exactly how many steps you take on a specific walking course/activity then you will have to look at your number of steps before and after and then subtract the difference. It seems to me that if they can make a cool gadget that measures steps and computes caloric burning they could surely make it have a resettable trip feature that comes standard. I like that it automatically resets because I would probably forget to zero it out if I had to. But I would at least like the option. Basically you set it up once and never change anything ever again. That is convenient.
I went to New Orleans and I was trying to keep track of how many steps I took while I was in the city one evening and at midnight it reset. That isn't a big problem but I would have loved to know how many steps I took that day up until 2AM. My pedometer reset at midnight because I live in a different time zone.
I would also like to see weekend steps versus a hiking weekend without having to go back and look at the day and personally add three days of steps. Just a minor inconvenience but again this thing should do it. That being said I don't know if I would pay any more for that feature. What you really want is how many steps are you taking in general. That is easily accomplished wit this pedometer.

Best pedometer I've ever usedOct 09, 2010

This item is fabulously accurate. As someone who is kind of an exercise nut, I got tired of pedometers that had to be positioned exactly right or they didn't track properly. It's also easy to lose many pedometers because of the way you have to clip them to a belt or waistband. This pedometer keeps accurate count in your pocket or backpack or other secure location, so danger of loss is minimized. I rarely go a day without carrying it, and find that it makes me walk more than I would otherwise, because I always try to go at least 10,000 steps. Even the clock on it is very reliable, and the step counter never fails to set itself back to zero overnight so that you can begin counting steps again the next day. My sister has one also, and shares my high opinion. We bought one last year for our stepmother for Christmas following her double knee replacement surgery, and she too enjoys it immensely. It allowed her to track her progress as her knees healed and gave her a way to quantify how much she was walking. It also works great on an elliptical machine or stair climber. I highly recommend this.

A great little pedometerJul 30, 2011
By Thom I spent quite some time looking for a quality pedometer after losing my last one , which was a clip on type , later to discover it had been run over by an automobile. this is a quality pedometer , maybe a little too sensitive , but I'm happy overall with its performance . I would recommend this Oregon Science pedometer to any serious exerciser!!
