Great monitor, NO AUDIO!!!Aug 27, 2009
By Earthman Pyle makes great monitors. What the PLHR79 and their other monitors gives the user in video quality for the size can't be beat for the price.
I purchased two of the PLHR79 units through amazon.com because the description included the comment "AV Input."
The unit has two Video Inputs, but NO AUDIO INPUT.
I imagine the PLHR79 would be great for a video only security camera input or for a back-up monitor for a Motor Coach or a Bus.
Craftsmanship is high as is all of the Pyle units I've seen. With my hobbies I've decided to keep the two PLHR79 units.
For my original needs I ended up purchasing two Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV units with AV inputs. The added bonus is that the HLT71 is also a TV with an ATSC tuner. :)
Nothing bad to say about the Pyle monitor, it's the listed specs that were incorrect.

By sf We've had this monitor in service for several months on a commercial fishing vessel (monitoring various engine room locations) & I'm pleased to report that I'm happy with it's performance.

Perfect as a camera monitorDec 07, 2010
By TVandy Mounted this TV in the wall to use as a camera monitor for the front door. Worked perfectly. It does, however require a 12V power supply that is not included.

good enough display, like the stand, could have better imageAug 28, 2008
By S. Ng-Evans Good enough display. I like the stand. The image could be a little better and it cut off the top half of the characters at the top of the display when I used it with a DVR/multiplexer (this displays the date/time and HDD space on the top of the screen).
faulty cable?May 24, 2012
By KL This worked well for a couple of weeks. However, the cable that connects the monitor to the other wires had a loose connection. It would get too lose and the monitor would quit. If pushed back together it would start up again. Then one day it just quit completely. checked with multimeter and wiring is good. E-mailed Pyle customer service with no response. Finally called them. Spoke with a rude guy in the "warranty" department. He said to mail it to them with $15 and they will try to fix it. Not sure I want to pay shipping to them and another $15 at this point.
