Water Leaks Into Battery CompartmentApr 25, 2012

I have had two of these camcorders. The first one I bought 3 years ago and I took it to Puerto Rico with me to film underwater at the reefs. I never dove down at all, I stayed on top of the water the entire time, never letting the camera go past 1 foot deep. Well after 15 mins underwater it stopped working. When I got back to the states, I filed a claim and they sent me a brand new camcorder. This past weekend I took the camcorder to Culebra Island, Puerto Rico again. Same thing happened, 15 mins into the water, and not below 1 foot from the top of the water, it stopped working again. I got back to the beach, openend up the battery compartment and water came pouring out. Both the battery and SD card were wet. I let it dry out for a few days, still no luck. I even tried using two different batteries. Again for the second time, it is fried. I am very disappointed. It seems they didnt do any product testing whatsoever. You'd think they would take it out into the ocean and snorkel around with it to test it first. I am now shopping for another brand. I bought this brand new for $400 when it first came out.
