3Decent enough for the moneyJan 04, 2012
By J. Kimray
I bought this item about two years ago and have only recently had problems out of it. During most of that time, I've had a standard def. television and the picture quality seemed perfect. Now that I've joined the rest of the world in HD land, I'm noticing that it doesn't flawless carry the signal. I had my Wii plugged into one of the component ports and was getting a bit of static. So, I unplugged the Wii from the box and plugged it directly into my TV and the picture was much more clear.

The buttons are becoming an issue, as well. Out of the blue, one of the switches has just stopped working. $20 for a two year run isn't terrible, I guess. But longevity in electronics is everything.

If you're looking for something cheap, this is really not a bad way to go. But if you have an eye for detail, I don't recommend it. I'm looking to replace mine and I can say with certainty that I won't be buying this one again.

5Works GreatFeb 26, 2012

I got this because my HD TV doesn't have an HDMI input, but only a single component HD input. This switch allows me to easily change HD inputs between my cable TV box, xbox 360, and my PC.

This was easy to install, works like a charm, and reasonably priced. What more could you want? I'm not tech-saavy and I was able to even use this on my 24-year-old television set. We have two of these in my house and I would buy the exact same kind if I needed another one.

4Takes away the need to switch inputsDec 07, 2010

I got this because my TV only had two component inputs and I had 4 devices so I was pulling one out and putting one in every time I needed to use a different device. I don't know what I expected it to do other than just be a switch between inputs but that's what it is. It does the job I needed done. It works with component input and s video

1MisleadingOct 11, 2009
By Adam Fishburn "Adam"
Like the previous reviewer, I too bought it because the packaging implies you can plug in composite video and output component video, or at least pass it through. I have an xbox (not 360) and a game cube. They output composite video and my son is fine with it. However, his new TV only has component, hdmi, and dvi inputs. It has no composite input. I bought this because the package suggests it will accept composite video input and output component video, or at least pass it through in some fashion.

A waste of $20.

The package should explicitly state that you cannot do this.
