I've never purchased an item from Amazon or their third party vendors that just out & out did not work. I tried this on two different tv's and there was no connection with audio or video. Unfortunately I waited too long to try it out and I can't return it now. The retracting cables idea is good, but too bad the cables don't actually work. Money down the drain :(

I bought these for my sony High 8 camcorder (dcr-trv350), but they do not work for it. They also do not work for my Toshiba portable DVD player. They act like the Video and Audio pick ups are reversed, because when I purposely reverse the 2 cables on the joiner, and leave it 3/4 the way out, I can get video, but no audio. I can get no audio plugged strait in or spliced. I spent extra money on a set from another store, worked perfectly, and the cheapies that came with the dvd player worked on both. I don't get it. These little cables should the job of bulkier ones without the hassel. These are 24 k plated connectors for optimum signal transfer, retractable, and convert portable dvd/camcorder signals from a 3.5mm to composite a/v cable. these are 6ft/1.8m long, and come with either separate video and audio 3.5mm cables, and a combiner adapter for combination AV jacks. limited lifetime warranty from factory to boot, but unfortunately, I bought these for later use over a 2 years ago, and this past weekend I found out they didn't work. Good price (around 15 bucks), worth getting for easy travel, but don't do like me and assume they will work, test it first.
