Works Great for my CamperAug 18, 2008

I used this selector along with a new Kenwood car stereo to replace the old outdated stereo in my camper. It took some wood working and a little imagination, but it worked out great. Now I use the speaker selector to run all three pairs of my speakers on the camper. With this product I can listen to all three sets at a time, two sets at a time, or just one set. Makes it nice when we're hanging out by the campfire and just want to hear the outdoor speakers while the kids watch a movie inside the camper.I highly recommend to any camper and will gladly show pictures of how I did it. Ditch that dinosaur of a Magadyne and start enjoying music while you're camping.

Life Saver!!!Jan 10, 2011
By baseball09 This is a great unit. For the past year my stereo speakers on the Patio/Pool area we cutting out when the amplifier was at less than ½ volume. This was extremely annoying since the volume from the speakers was not very loud. I am running heavy gauge wire and everything is dry and protected from the outside elements other than the humidity. After using the Pyle speaker selector and having since added a third set of speakers, I can now turn the volume to full capacity without the speakers shutting off. (Obliviously there is distortion at that level and do not actually run them that high) Problem solved and for less than $35.00.
Only one small complaint: I wish the inputs in the speaker selector would accept larger diameter wire. I am using 16 gauge and it's a pretty tight fit. I would prefer to use 12 or 14 gauge for the longer runs but I don't think they will fit.
Pyle home pss4-4 channel high power sterio speaker selectorApr 30, 2012
By Ric I went to Radio shack and they had the exact same one there for $19.00 more, and I told the guy, I can get it cheaper on amazon. I asked him if he would sell it to me at their price, he said no, and I said, ok I'll put it back on the shelf. I then ordered it, and it was at my house in 3 days, and I couldn't be happier with this product. It was absolutely perfect for what I needed, now I can listen to my sterio upstairs, outdoors, and downstairs.
Not rocket science: works greatApr 18, 2012
By Mike Gaerte I bought this selector because of price. The bottom line is it works just fine. I'm using this to control a receiver inside the house that has zones to four outdoor speakers for now: two on a porch a porch and two on a side patio. No idea on longevity, but after initial setup it works perfectly. As others have said - the terminals don't accept heavier gauge wire. It's a bit of a problem because I've got about 200 feet of wire involved, but it's certainly not a deal breaker at this price.
Excellent little unit, provided your power handling needs are low and you use pins or tiny wire.Dec 21, 2011

I needed a very compact unit for a kitchen system to fit on a small shelf. I have three sets of speakers hooked up to the Pyle PSS4 and connected it to a Pyle Home PCA4 Mini 2x120 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier: NHT super zeros (86db/watt), and two pair of Parasound C-260 in wall speakers (88db/watt) via nice Kimber 16 gauge in-wall speaker wire that cost considerably more than the rest of the rig. The result is musically satisfying output to moderately loud levels.
The PSS4 switcher unit is sonically almost transparent in this setup. I can hear a softening when all the speakers are engaged, probably as a result of the impedance change in the ganged load. With only one, the sonic difference is virtually undetectable. In operation each speaker is selected or deselected by depressing its button - which functions as a toggle. Press it in and the speaker is selected. Press it in again and it pops out, deselecting that speaker pair. In the rear the speaker and amp connections are made via small spring loaded tabs. You'll need pins or very thin wire to fit in those little holes. I used pins.
FYI - the first PSS4 unit I ordered was defective. The sound was muffled dramatically. I returned it for my current unit promptly and it was like night and day - so be aware that quality might vary. All in all, this unit provides excellent value for the money.
