5Very UsefulSep 16, 2008
By James R. Meldrum
As a full-time RVer with Dish 1000.2 HD service a satellite finder is a necessary tool. I must align to satellites 20-25 times each year. We travel throughout the US and Canada. I put the Philips satellite finder to use the dayn it arrived becausen winds from Ike had caused me to lose satellite 129. I was able to get HD reception back in several minutes with the help of the finder. I would recommend this to anyone who must reset their dish alignment on a regular basis. The price is much lower than my first purchase 6 years ago.

1Problems with directionsAug 18, 2010
By D. McLin "Deep Inhaler of Historical Fiction"
After reading the reviews on this item, I bought it. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. I think this is due primarily to the fact the the instructions were vague and obviously written by someone who speaks broken Chinese-English. I am really disappointed because I thought I'd be able to use it when the need arose instead of having to pay someone to align my satellite. I plugged it in both ways, in case this solved the problem, but it was dead both ways. Definitely needs better written instructions with explanations of technical terms, such as LSN. Nonetheless, everything I did with it failed.

2I was thinking that I was more effectiveDec 07, 2011

I was thinking that I was more effective, to find a satellite with this device it can turn out to be difficult, since the sign is not very precise. It serves like reference towards where aiming at the antenna, nevertheless the precision gives the decoder with his signal meter.

By Joseph Bejm "JB"
Well it works but it's hard time to just setup the satellite. I setup wrong satellite on the receiver. It just gets the satellites but which is which is hard to say. Finally I Used my receiver to setup and not that finder.
