Sennheiser UI760 is Great!Jan 21, 2010
By Mark Patrick This UI760 Amp is a top quality product - Period! I bought a new AT&T 1070 desk phone with the tiny 2.5 headset output. I also got the Sennheiser cc550 binaural headset. The headset sounded good but was too loud for me even with the phone on the lowest setting. I also have tinnitus with hissing in my ears and loud sounds (like a stark dial tone) drive me crazy. I bought this amp and hooked the Sennheiser cc550 headset up to it with the quick release cable that came with it. I also had to buy a small Plantronic 78333-01 2.5mm to RJ-9 cable to hook up the UI760 to the 2.5mm headset port of my phone. The result is fantastic! The UI760 has a large, smooth, wide-range volume dial so I can ride the audio gain on my calls and it will take the headset volume down so low that you can not even hear it! The amp is small but heavy and sticks in one spot on your desk and will not move around as you use the audio volume dial. Also, it has a switch that seriously enhances clarity. I am surprised at how low I can turn the volume down and still hear my customers clearly. There is also some kind of a built in limiter that prevents sudden loud jolts of sound and it seems to really work well. I strongly recommend this amp for anyone and feel like it is a great value for the money! I just wish I had found it 20 years ago.

Buyer bewareMar 09, 2010
By Davezz Purchased this unit primarily to reduce the headset jack volume on a new office phone.
After installation the following problems were found:
- I could not get the outgoing headset volume loud enough for most callers to hear effectively. Found I was almost yelling in order to be heard (the pot on the bottom of the unit was cranked to maximum, also tried at other levels). I am using a call center quality Plantronics headset which works very well in other applications. - After finding that setting "A" (also on the bottom of the unit) worked with my phone, the phone itself became cranked up to extremely loud levels oin the handset. The dial tone from the handset and touch tones when dialing were unbearably loud and remained so after disconnecting the Amplifier. I had to power cycle the phone to restore the levels to normal. - The interface cables to use the Amplifier do not ship with the product. I was aware of this from the product description and assumed that I could find something somewhere. After about 45 minutes of searching and weeding through the usual dead ends I did find an adapter that looked like it maybe should work (Sennheiser CUIPC 1 - available on Amazon).
I really wanted this product to work, it's small form-factor and lack of need for an external power supply made it appear to be a perfect match for my needs. The unit's housing and controls are plastic and seem durable enough although not super-sturdy like the Plantronics SL12 system. I'm returning this item and will search for a better product.
doesn't work with compatible phonesMar 06, 2012
By Yanping Qiu We purchased this unit, which was promised to be compatible with our Avaya phone. We had to send the unit back twice, and none of them worked properly. Customer service was stumped... we suggested they update their compatible phone lists.

Can't connect to PC. Can't connect to headset.Dec 24, 2009
By SurferJeff The box does not have any cables you need to connect the unit to a computer, nor does it have 3.5 mm jacks that would allow you to plug-in a PC headset. All these cables must be purchased separately, and I have yet to find anyone in the U.S. selling them. This really borders on false advertising.
