Good sound and nice features but still a poor buyMar 31, 2009

"Ripp"
I got these headphones about two years ago on a recommendation from a friend as my Sony v700s were beaten to death from traveling and djing out. I am going back to Sony after this.
The sound quality is strong, nice lows and crisp highs. Also has some fun features like a light that blinks to the beat that would always crack people up late at night. Also a nice kill switch for the lows and highs for some Dj's that look for different frequencies when they mix.
But the design and sturdiness is just weak. 6 months after I got them the sound just went out on the right ear. They had barley been used. I sent them to Stanton and after about 60 days they came back fixed. And now two years later the plastic head extension just broke off as I took them off in the studio.

Great headphones but not durableMar 12, 2009
By K. Robinson I am a DJ and I love the sound quality of the headphones. However, they are not durable, I concur with the other reviews. I haven't had these headphones for very long and while recording a mix at home and putting the headphones back on my head the ear phones cracked around the ear cup. Trying to get Stanton to replace product haven't heard anything yet. I hope they stand behind their product.

Good Sound and Comfortable!Nov 01, 2008

I am a DJ who has owned a pair of these for about 1.5 years. They are rather good headphones, very comparable to the *standard* sony mdr-v700's that every DJ swears by. However, these have a few unique features that are worthwhile. The detatchable cord is perhaps the most useful, but the blinking LEDs also make them look attractive. The hi and low filters also have their use but I've never really needed them.
They are made of plastic but it does not really feel flimsy. I can imagine that other, more expensive headphones are slightly better in this regard, but the only thing that you need to remember therefore is to take care of them. This means not to use them as a seat-cushion.
They are comfortable but they are definitely not for excercise or round-the-house use particularily. Like all DJ headphones, these have large earpieces that take some getting used to. Additionally, use around school grounds or other public places can get you some odd looks and stares as if you are a spoiled rich kid. But they do have good sound isolation and overall emit great sound.
The cord is both long and stretchy which can give you great freedom to move around a room (or a DJ booth) without knocking over your CD player or mixer.
Everyone knows that headphones like these typically have a one-year lifespan. In my case, after 11 months one earcup stopped working, but, after sending these into Stanton for repair they just sent me a new one.
In conclusion I feel that these headphones are best labled as comfortable, nicely sound-isolated, and great sound. At $100 price, I would recommend them to all my friends. I would give it 5 stars if the joints were made out of metal though.

fragileNov 15, 2006
By Irena Niemiec these are delicate headphones I have a pair that broke a couple of weeks after i bought them.
the extending adjustment band at each side are easily broken.
The drivers are awsome quality however the overall construction is poor not to mention the weight of these headphones is heavy.
If you do decide on buying these phones be careful as the adjust band is easyily broken and after one side breaks and you glue it together the extra pressure on the opposite side takes its tole and now you have a broken useless set of expensive headphones.

nice but not durableJan 18, 2007
By A. Harris I bought these for my son for Christmas. He is an adult and not a child who would miss use them but they did crack not a month after getting them. When he was taking them off one time the side where it attaches to the ear cup cracked. They are not real durable I guess and they are plastic which for the price I would have expected more metal. He says their quaility of sound is great and he loves them except for the fact they broke easily. Hopefully it was just a fluke or bad set and I hope they stand behind their product and replace them.
