DisappointingMar 04, 2002
By Andrew After half an hour of adjusting the gain and trying the antenna in a few different positions around the TV, it still did not even look as good as my old non-amplified rabbit ears. Yes, it is low-profile, but it definitely isn't producing the "audio/visual clarity you'd expect from a much larger unit." I will be returning this product.

slim look and poor performanceDec 22, 2002
By +++ This antenna has a low-profile inobtrusive look, and comes with a built-in 30 dB amplifier with adjustable gain. However, the passive part of the antenna (the dipoles which actually pick up the signal from the air and convert it to electrical signal fed into the amplifier and further into the TV) appears to be mediocre. This is not surprising since it is known that efficient antennas usually have their geometrical size comparable with the wavelength of the signal which they are designed to receieve. For the channels 1 through 10 or so, the required size is in the meter range. The Jensen product is a lot smaller than that, which makes me think that they sacrificed the performance of the dipoles in favor of making the antenna a lot smaller, and tried to get its efficiency back to the "rabbit ears" by using a built-in amplifier. I hoped that it would work slightly less than the cheapest "rabbit ears" antenna that I already have - but in fact, I got extremely poor reception even at a maximum amplification - much worse than I had with a primitive dipole antenna. I had to return this product. In my understanding, it would work only in the areas with a direct view of the transmitter unobstructed by terrain features, where the sensitivity can be traded for a small size and easy wall mount. I find the Jensen's claims that it provides a better reception than non-amplified antennas wrong and misleading.

Product works as writtenFeb 16, 2003
By Ron Ablang Everything that Jensen promises about this product is true! I was very skeptical of this product working as I had read a lot of bad reviews about this product AFTER I had just ordered it from another online store for about... I already had the Radio Shack ATV1000, and it performed so-so, but probably requires constant adjustment between channels. My reason for wanting a omni-directional antenna (one that didn't require constant adjustment) is because I own a ReplayTv ShowStopper, a digital video recorder, and I needed it to record shows unattended. I am very happy with this product. It performs as stated. I live in Sacramento, CA, so your results with this product might vary depending on the distances from your home to any of the local stations. I also make sure to read the directions, not to mount it directly on top of the TV, or place near any large metal objects. I take it a step further by plugging in its power cord to an isolated power strip and make sure the coax cable doesn't touch other cords (interference). I say try the product, but save your receipt. Hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

works OK for nearby HD channelsMar 19, 2007
By mkztg This antenna works decent for me because I live about 10-15 miles from my local HDTV transmitters. If it was any further I think this just wouldn't work. Other thoughts: The BRIGHT BLUE LED on the front is very distracting, I had to cover it up with tape because it would light up the room at night (bedroom) and it was bad enough it would keep me awake.

Useless - avoid!Aug 02, 2006
By C. George I bought this from somewhere else, and I'm sorry I did. This is one of the worst antennas I've used. Probably passable for analog signals, it really is not very good for digital signals at all. The built in "amplifier" does nothing for the signal either. There's really nothing to this antenna... definitely nothing even remotely close to what you're paying for this antenna. Avoid.
