Prepping Project - the Sunpak chargerMar 05, 2011

M. Lucky says theis unit I myself (as a retired engineer) say for you to: "be careful". The batteries (four AA 1.25 Volt 2650 mAh NiMH come with this charger), are rechargeable and are labelled "super longlife" - which I like and am now using. I only bought this unit to "jolt" a "null" battery my really excellent LaCrosse Technology "intelligent" charger needed. It won't take a battery having less than almost no power left - without a few seconds of a "jolt" to overcome said 9009's "null" indication. That's the only reason I have a Sunpak (with automatic current selection) rapid charger: for a quick jolt to let my LaCrosse "at it". BUT - Sunpak's built-in IC time control was about to overcharge (it was really heating up) my mistake of putting an already fully charged (by LaCrosse) NiCd. I do not believe it could tell about charge except by timing (supposedly under a green light it should only trickle charge a fully charged cell). But, with such things in mind the Sunpak I will use . But I love my no heat-problem intelligent LaCrosse BC-9009U and its colorful AC/DC adapter from Amazin' Amazon with the extras it comes with, batteries, and all its "bells and whistles".
