I bought the "platinum plus flexpod gripper" yesterday, and aftre playing around with it for about 10 minutes total, one of the legs broke off...
*** I wasnt overdoing it either*** I bent it (in a regular manner) to hang onto a doorknob, and then i bent it to stand up on a desk by itself, and the metal-ish piece that connected twisted off in my hand... Kinda like bending a paperclip and having it break...
I saw this in the store, and thought it was the same as a gorillapod (which I haven't tested at all) so I bought it for 21 bux. Worst 21 bux i have spent in a lonnnnnng time...

An excellent little tripod for difficult positions! It does the work of much larger, more sophistocated tripods.
Terrible substitute for a GorilapodNov 15, 2010

I bought this for my girlfriend when I had a gorillapod in mind, thinking they were more or less interchangeable. That was a mistake. Not only is it much less fashionable, but it hardly works at all. It's like a happy meal toy version of a real flexible tripod. Spend the extra $4 bucks or whatever and get a gorillapod. I just did, and I wish I had spent the good money the first time.
