The Best There Is For The PriceJun 09, 2008
By Grey Thorne I bought a pair of these stands for my 2-way active speakers that weigh 51 pounds each. They certainly are superior to any other stands I've used that cost less and it's a major plus to be able to raise the speakers safely by myself. The stands have a large dial that is color coded and labeled for each function. Turn it to green to raise with one hand without it being able to fall back down. Turned to red and it locks it into place. When you wish to lower it, turn it to yellow and slowly keep turning the dial while it's at yellow and it starts to lower gradually instead of releasing all at once. Ultimate guarantees them for life, you just pay shipping one way for an product exchange. The only very small con I found, hardly worth the mention, is the connector tube which telescopes up to accommodate 1-3/8" speaker sockets are made of aluminum. Even though you can't see them they get marred up from the speaker's tightening bolt and can leave small burs.

The Telelock Speaker Stand is well worth the money. It is durable and makes lifting heavy speakers easier on the back. Pay the few bucks more and get this stand. You won't be disappointed.
Just not long-lastingJan 14, 2011
By thelaibon After only 3 months of use, one of the stands no longer supports my JBL SXR speaker. It just slides down to the lowest, unextended position within a matter of 20-30 seconds. Will be seeking warranty service but will sell immediately afterwards. I had my old On-Stage stands for 5 years, and although they weren't as nice looking or as promising as these Ultimates, they were always functional. Will buy another pair of On-Stage stands (and for much less too). Also, the Ultimate bag that holds a pair of these stands didn't fare so well in the 3 months either. Already holes and small nicks throughout. Disappointed.
Very NiceMar 19, 2010
By evoeichel I needed speaker stands for JBL 15" speakers and just assumed that they were all the same. I almost just picked the cheapest. Then I started reading the reviews. Glad I did. Once I gave a seconds thought, I realized I would be raising 40lbs 5-6 feet in the air. Did I really want to mess with the cheap stands people were complaining about? So, I opted for these based on the reviews and the opinions were spot on. Very sturdy, easy to operate solo. And nice looking. Worth a little extra money to protect my JBL investment.
Invest In Less Back Strain and PainDec 17, 2009
By D. Brown The day I got this stand, I used it later on the job. Once I mounted the Behringer powered speaker (36 lbs), I just turned the dial to "Raise" and pushed the speaker up to the desired height I liked. Simple, no hassle and no strain. The expanding legs make sure everything is stable. At the end you just turn the dial to "Lower" and the speaker comes down in a smooth action. The other advantage is the stands light weight and strong construction. It's worth the investment in less hassle and pain.
