4Good connectorsJun 02, 2009
By Thomas J. Jackson
These are easy to install, hold as well as wire nuts, and make good connections. They're a good choice when space is limited or banana connectors aren't an option. I have an array of these connectors in the back of a speaker switch and they do a great job of fitting in a tight space and keeping the connectors from shorting against neighbors. The only downside is the insulation. I had several in the attic for the rear surrounds of a 7.1 system. After 7 years I replaced them with Monster flexi-connectors. The flexis were a better fit for the particular speakers and I wanted to use these pin types somewhere else. I couldn't re-use them because the insulation had broken down pretty bad. Admittedly an attic is pretty severe duty but I really hope my speaker wire insulation or house wire insulation for that matter can handle it. My point is both of those can and this insulation was pretty lousy.

1Don't work without electrical tapeAug 25, 2011
By AMZN PC Commentary
Bought these a while back - and they worked - just barely with a bunch of twisting and elbow grease. I recently changed a piece of equipment in my system and in the process of connecting lost a channel. In diagnosing my problem I looked at these connectors to verify a "solid connection". The boot of the connector hid the fact that the wire had slipped out of the connector. Hours later, I finally found the problem. After attempting to reconnect with more twisting and elbow grease I gave up. Went back to Amazon to find a replacement. Found one of the other poster's comments regarding using the electrical tape - and not I'm good. Terrible way to have to use the product.

4Good but not great.Aug 01, 2009
By C. R. Cruze "C. R. Cruze, a music lover and audiophile"
I purchased these connectors to make the connection from my sub to my speakers and they work just fine but the pins could have been a little thicker. These connectors are NOT for speaker wire smaller than 14 gauge cause you have to strip about 1/2" of wire then twist to make the connection tight and any small gauge wire, simply would not stay put. I recommend you use a 14 or 12 gauge speaker wire for these connectors. They do however make connecting speakers to audio equipment much easier and they will keep the copper wire free from corrosion. As for sound quality they sound great, I cant tell if there any better sounding, but there is no loss in sound by using them.

4Exactly what I neededApr 10, 2009
By Larry "Larry"
I just got done installing four in wall speakers for the surrounds in my 7.1 home theater. The 12awg speaker wire I ran was too fat to fit into the spring pin connectors. A quick look to Amazon and I found these. Package contains FOUR PAIRS of connectors, so I only needed one to finish the job. Installation was simple and secure. I do wish that the insulator came up higher on the pin, buy they should not be able to short out each other if you're careful with placement.

1Don't Buy, Monster should be embarrassed.Feb 20, 2012
By clumsy one
They will not grab a hold of the speaker wire. I have tried three different wires these are a piece of junk. Monster should be embarrassed. I'm returning today.
