4A good headset for cordless phonesJan 24, 2009
By Stephen Forstein "Rabbi Steve"
This is my second headset and I really like it. I've had it three weeks and, so far, it works well. (I put in "so far" because I've had a headset whose quality deteriorated after six months. And there's the poor gentleman whose headset broke after four months.)

Two quibbles. My conversational partners hear me pretty well, but the handset does better. From my end I hear them clearly and crisply, better than the handset. I'd like the mike quality and volume to be a little bit better. Then, the behind the head, over the ears design means that the headset plastic occupies the same space as my eye glass temples. So when I want to use the headset it's off with the glasses, on with the headset, adjust the headset and mike, and then on with the glasses once more. When I want to take the headset off it's simply the reverse. So I use the headset only for conversations which are going to take a while.

It's important to note that there are four kinds of telephone headsets, distinguished by their plug endings. This headset ends in a three contact 2.5 mm plug and is for use with cordless phones and some cell phones. Various cell phone manufacturers have their own headset plug-in systems, many proprietary, so you can't use a standard headset with them. For computer use one type has two 3.5 mm cords, one stereo - for the earphones, and one 3.5 mm mono - for the microphone. Also for the computer there are headsets which terminate in a USB plug. And, if you have a good two cord headset but it needs a boost in power, there are USB pre-amps, which plug in to the computer and have 3.5 mm plugs facing out to plug your headset in.

I make this point because Amazon usually does not tell you what kind of headset you are buying. It is perfectly possible to buy a headset from a vendor, intending it for use on your portable phone and instead finding that you have received one designed for a computer. As far as I know their are no conversion adapters. So there is nothing for it but to return the headset and securing one designed for the use you had in mind. To exacerbate this situation many illustrations in Amazon do NOT show the cord termination. If the written description doesn't tell one the headset's designed use one is left in the dark. Time for a communication with Customer Service.

The illustration for this nice Uniden headset is perfectly clear, matching its quality and performance.

5Great sound!Jan 30, 2007
By P. Dugan "Pamela"
I work from home, and have conference calls every day. I ordered this headset, and am seriously impressed with the quality. I have no trouble hearing or being heard. The boom arm is flexible so you can bend it to set it where you want it, and where it attaches to the headset hinges you so can move the boom up and down. I really like it! Great quality for a great price.

5I love this headset!Nov 27, 2008
By Jennifer Snyder
I purchased a new Panasonic phone that was compatible for headsets but when I went looking for a new headset all I was finding was one ear piece headsets. I was thrilled when I found this one from Uniden and saw it would be compatible with my new Panasonic phone. I was skeptical with this headset as I was with the previous headsets I purchased for my PC and my MP3 Player. I needed a headset that gave me clarity and quality sound because I use my headset every day, and for hours at a time.

This Uniden headset has met all my expectations - it has great sound quality, my voice comes across crisp and clear and it's very comfortable to wear for hours at a time.

I would recommend this behind the head set for anyone looking for the same as I was. It works great!

1Broke Within 4 Months - Warranty Only 90 DaysJan 21, 2009
By SGR "Crystal Clear Day"
I liked this headset - seemed a good value for the money and the sound quality was fine. But it stopped working after only 4 months, and the Uniden warranty is a very surprising and disappointing 90 days. This product has ended up being a total waste of my money, not to mention that I'm stuck without a headset, which I really need to be effective with my phone work, and I have to start all over looking for a replacement.
