3range is mediocre and it is prone to interferenceFeb 06, 2008
By Johnny Buffalkill
I deleted my 1-star review of this product after I got the interference issues worked out. When I first installed it, I could only get it to work if I held the transmitter right next to the receiver. I e-mailed chamberlain's tech support and after a few days got a stock message about interference. Basically it sounded like if your house had electricity, all bets were off and you were going to have trouble with electrical interference. I was skeptical because the only electrical appliance near the receiver was the garage door opener mechanism itself, but I moved it to another outlet just to check, and sure enough the range improved, and while not great, it is usable now. Strangely, its better from outside the garage than inside. From the inside of the garage I have to hold it out the window to get it to work, but at least I don't have to get out of the car.

It was very easy to install and program. If it weren't so interference prone I would have given it a 5-star review, but the interference problem could be a concern depending on your garage layout. If you have an electrical outlet that is away from everything else it should work.

4A nice fix for a challenging problem.Apr 23, 2012

After 12 years our 433 Mhz Liftmaster openers stopped working - some new form of interference was stopping the openers from functioning properly - except inside the garage. After working through all the diagnostics we were looking at buying new openers or new boards. I bought this instead - 20 minutes of hook up and another 15 for programming the remotes - and bingo we can open the doors from the street. It works with Home Link (07 and 10 models). The cheap wire used to connect the unit to the opener cost them a star - the wire kept breaking after the required stripping - and I expect it may still happen again after installation.
Unit functionality is better than the original openers. I ordered a second for the other garage door.

I lost the remote control for a 40 year old garage door opener on a home that we are trying to sell and was looking for a solution without putting up a new opener. I tried this one and it works great. It was very simple to install using the wiring between the inside pushbutton and the opener. I had it working in less than 5 minutes.

There was CHAMBERLAIN garage door in my house that was installed at 1988.
Over 24 years, it works well. But, finally remote didn't work. So, I searched remote stuff.. and I bought this.
It works great. really really good~!!! I am in korea.~!!

Ordered this after the remote function of my garage door quit working. Easy to set-up and operate. Works with automotive homelink system. Operational range is not as effective as original equipment, but still satisfactory. Overall a good product for the money that works as expected.
