5Great phone, good priceMay 27, 2008
By Diane E. Fowler
I bought this phone from Amazon about 2 months ago. It is a great phone. I've not heard any static at all, even when I take it with me down the road to my neighbors' house. The answering machine works fine. I can retrieve my new messages from a remote location with no problems. This saves monthly charges for voice mail. When I misplace one of the receivers, I can press "find phone" and they all call home! It held all my numbers in the directory and has speed dial as well for frequently called numbers. The only improvement I could make would be a color display, but functionally, for the price, it is excellent.

1Two phones - Two lemonsMay 05, 2009

Adequate range but the answering machine sounds like "adults in a Charley Brown TV Special." We've tried two after returning the first -- the result is the same: The family gathers around the answering machine to play the messages and guess who might have left the message. Half of the messages are completely garbled and distorted.

Try anything else but this!

1very poor all aroundFeb 22, 2010

First off, This phone sounds terrible to the person on the other end.
Secondly, sometimes the dialer skips numbers. So you push a button and the number shows up on the display, but there is no tone and the number is not dialed.

on the plus side, the answering system seems to work just fine. This would be ok if you just got messages and never called anybody back because using this phone will upset you and others around you. Several people have asked me to please replace my phone and now that I'm reviewing this, I can't believe I kept it so long. Oh yeah and the batteries die really fast.

I plan to throw these handsets into the trash with some used diapers so no one will be tempted to turn on these pieces of junk junk junk again.

1Lasted 5 weeks and no ringer shut off!Apr 08, 2009
By JT "JT"
I purchased this phone and everything seemed fine. I was annoyed that I could not turn the ringer off ... there is no switch! After 5 weeks, I noticed the phone hadn't rung on a Saturday (very unusual) and I discovered it no longer worked. I could not dial any numbers and though I could hear a dial tone no calls were coming in.

I was very disappointed and now have to go through the hassle of returning the product. Don't purchase this under ANY circumstance!!!

1INHERENT PROBLEMSep 10, 2008
By S. Clark
After experiencing problems with the digital voicemail and caller ID features on this phone within the first six weeks after purchase, I returned it as a defective product and requested a replacement of the same model. Unfortunately, before 30 days had passed, the replacement model developed the exact same issues with caller ID and voicemail. I have since returned the second defective phone and will more carefully consider any future purchases from the V-Tech products line.
