Wrong ChoiceNov 11, 2006
By Sparkowitz We have a flat screen LCD and thought this shelf system would be ideal to mount below the TV. We needed something that could handle the cable box, an XBOX and a DVD player, while managing all of the wires. Mounting was easy enough, provided you have a stud in the vicinity. We did, so no problems there. Drill a few holes and you are all set with the verticle part of the unit. This part, however, has a small (very small) groove in the back for wire management, but it is too small to be practical. Alternatively, the wires can be run along the front groove where the shelves mount, but because of the delicacy of the shelf mount, this is not recommended. More specifically, the shelves mount to the verticle beam via a small plate sized barely right and two tiny allen screws. While this has proven sturdy enough to handle the DVD player and the cable box, the shelf with XBOX has literally fallen twice, crashing down onto the floor (the temprered glass shelf survived and did not shatter). My wife is pregnant, and if we had a crawling baby around, this could have been a disaster. Consequently, I will be getting rid of this shelf system once the baby is born.
In short, for very light duty in an adult home where wire management is not important, this unit is fine -- it looks good and is easy to mount. But if you have greater expectations, spend the extra money and get a higher quality system. I wish I had.

Not big enoughSep 12, 2005
By Trevor A. Roeder This system was not big enough for my Yamaha RX-V757 reciever. The depth of the glass was not big enough, and the glass can only hold 25lbs, the receiver is 29lbs.

One of the Best Wall Mount SystemsNov 22, 2007
By R. Benoist The wall mount works on the basis of mounting directly to a stud. The hardware is complete and effective. Once assembled, the shelves can swivel slightly to allow you access to the rear of the components and wiring. It is study and clean looking and one of the best wall mounts I found out there. I units I have on this wall mount are the surround sound/receiver from Pioneer, cable box and DVD player. I placed the receiver on the middle shelf and made sure to have 8" to 9" clearance from the upper shelf to allow for proper cooling.

SwivelsMar 01, 2007
By Pamela J. Karr Other reviewers are right. Even when it is in the stud, it swivels from side to side. Other than that, it looks good. Still hard to hide all the wires.

Decent but not greatJan 18, 2007

"Type Z"
I was hoping for something a little better built. It does work, and installation was easy but I don't like the fact that it swivels without a way to lock it into one position.
This unit is also not made for anything very heavy. It says its rated for 25#'s a shelf, but I have a 24.5# reciever and I am a little worried about it.
It does look cool, but is lacking in durability and function. Good for lightweigt things only.
