I bought this item to lift our LCD TV in the bedroom up a little higher on the dresser so that we could see the TV better when in bed. Worked perfectly for this purpose.
Was easy to put together, took maybe 15 minutes. Very well packed. Heavy and durable, seems very strong and well built. I backed it up against the mirror on the dresser, because I did not want the TV to rotate, and that worked fine. Looking at how the turntable fastens to the bottom, I believe you could remove the turntable if you did not want it to rotate. Seems like it's fastened with four screws from what I can tell.
Look around, I found mine cheaper at another vendor. And yes, it is black, not brown.

Wasn't that hard to put together, although lining up the cam screws was a bit of a challenge.
biggest issue is that i wanted one in brown / wood, which is what the picture shows, but the item i recieved is jet black / ebony.
otherwise, seems fine

This is exactly what I've been looking for, I took the rotating piece off and now my huge TV sits on top and I can see it when I'm laying in bed plus I have a vcr under it too. It's very sturdy and holds alot of weight. Good purchase.

Item is hard to put together & instructions are not well written when you are not mechanically inclined. Calling csr service is a waste. All you get voice mail & no one returns your phone call. I would not recommend if you cannot comprehend instructions in putting together.
