 Excellent Motion Detector SensorDec 12, 2011

Very sensitive and large vertical and horizontal area of detection. Includes optional sensor window minimizer to reduce side sensitivity. Excellent range to base unit.
No wires so installation is a breeze, in fact you can just set it down on a high shelf.
Have not experienced any false alarms due to reflected light or any other reason - it detects motion via infrared energy... heat. Will work when pitch black or in daylight.
Has an internal antenna.
If the base unit is just out of range or operates intermittently due to a weak signal, there is a 6" internal antenna (not mentioned in the manual)connected and wrapped inside the housing. The housing can be opened and the antenna can be extended vertically out of the top of the sensor housing by cutting or drilling a small hole for the antenna to exit the housing. This will extend the range somewhat.

I BOUGHT THE MACE PRE-PACKAGED SECURITY KIT. I HAD TWO LARGE ROOMS TO COVER EACH IS ABOUT 30 FEET WIDE WITH ONE BEING ABOUT 40 FEET LONG AND THE OTHER, 20 FEET LONG. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THE DOOR SWITCH SO I'LL USE IT ELSEWHERE. THE EXTRA "PIR" COVERS ONE ROOM WHILE THE SECOND "PIR" DOES THE SECOND. NOTHING GETS BY AND, IT WAS AN EASY SET-UP. LESS THAN AN HOUR AND THAT INCLUDES TIME TRYING TO TRICK IT. THE KEYFOB, I LET MY KIDS USE IT WHEN THEY VISIT. I MADE ONE CALL TO CLEARIFY THE WAY SOMETHING WAS WRITTEN; EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE/SUPPORT. I ALSO BOUGHT THE ALARM HORN

I prefer not to have strangers install security in my home and I love this product. Very easy to install and works wonderfully.

The detector works nicely. We installed several in a mountain house after a break-in. But the batteries run down after about 10 months and need to be replaced to ensure protection. It's an inconvenience, but the wireless feature made installation easy, so it balances out.

Good product works well with security system. Easy to set up. Product is inexpensive as well and the nine volt battery lasts a long time.
